So I have an MSI Z97 Gaming 9 A.C. and all of my drivers are up to date, however when I try to plug my Microsoft Xbox 360 wired controller to my front panel usb 3.0/2.0 it shows up as 'device not recognized" My PC build specs are in my signature for further information.

I'm pretty sure you should check here before you plug-and-play. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows
