Do I need a Higher wattage PSU for 2 R9 270x's

Go to solution Solved by I/O,

CX600M has +12V@46A so thats plenty. However you will still have to run molex to 6pin adapters as the CX600M has only two 6pin PCI E power connectors and you need four.

I just bought a second R9 270x from new egg, hey it was on sale and I had the money. My question is will I be able to crossfire it with the other one I already have on a corsair cx600m, or do I need to get a PSU with a higher rated wattage like a 700w or 750w. I plan on building my son a computer for Christmas so if I need a higher wattage it no big deal cause I still need to buy a second PSU for his computer. I have done some PSU calculations and a couple of them said I was fine, was just wondering what some of you may have. As always thanks for your advice.

thanks, guess that means I can buy a cheaper PSU for my son since he is not going to be running anything close to what I am running. He will just be running a AMD A10 7850k on an MSI A88x MOBO with a 1 TB HDD may add to it as his attitude and grades allow lol.

How can you tell if a PC game is crossfire compatible?
