Well my RAM is failing kind of badly now, (i have a very bad jinx with computers) and i'd really like to get some replacement ram before i have to use ram from the htpc

Anyhow.

the one im hardcore desiring is a 4x6GB 24GB Kit, and i know "YOU DONT NEED MORE THAN 8GB RAM" "16 is a little overkill" but i kinda really want to have 24GB opposed to 16GB for number aesthetics case (4 is a rad number for me and im a gemini so 2, 2 and 4, 24 :3) + it'd be handy if i have a megaton of stuff up and i like to have a bit of a roof so im not worrying?.

anyhow :3 my budget for new ram would probably be about 120 odd gbp, maybe a bit more, though if it does exist i'd IDEALLY want some geil dragon ram, 6gb :3 cause i just love freaking dragons.

OH I FORGOT:

I'm pretty sure they don't sell 6GB dimms, you would have to do 3x8GB dimms.

Yep 3x8gb is what I was thinking. Also make sure that your OS supports more than 16gb of ram as there was a case of some guy who got 24gb of ram and it recognised it all but said only 16gb was usable, Many many posts and many google searches later it ended up being that he has windows 7 home premium I think so check if ur OS supports it

To be exact, it supports 192GB.

24 is a weird number. I would always go 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128.....

for 120 pounds you're not going to be getting 24gb of ram methinks.

16, maybe, but not 24gb or 32gb

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

You won't find RAM modules in "weird" density quantities.

Computers use binary count (2^x).

I.e. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc.

These numbers seems familiar?

You'll find RAM modules in 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB densitites, but you most likely won't find it in 6GB forms -- unless you use odd-number of RAM sticks.

I.e.

3 X 2GB = 6GB

3 X 4GB = 12GB

3 X 8GB = 24GB

Chances of finding a 4 X 6GB kit is going to be slim -- next to none.

I can guarantee you your computer doesn't care about your astrological signs, or your favorite numbers. Get a 2x8gb or matching 4x8gb kit. They're going to be the most economical and cause you the least amount of headaches.
