Laptop's internet not working

Go to solution Solved by Quinntun,

hmmmmm i remember i had this issue a long time ago, i cant remember what i did to resolve the issue, try uninstalling or disabling the anti-virus.

You could also download HBCD (hiren boot CD) and use the repair the internet tool, (i cant remember the name of the tool off hand) but what it basically does it reset all the settings that has to do with connecting to the internet back to the default.

Edit:

It name is Complete internet repair here is a link to download it.

I have a windows 7 laptop that refuses to access the internet. It won't work over wifi or ethernet in both the normal os and in safe mode. I have the firewall disabled. It started doing this after I finished a AVG scan in safe mode and rebooted. The wireless card doesn't have a yellow triangle or anything in device manager and it connects to my router just fine, but I cannot load anything in chrome and IE. Chrome just tells me Unable to connect to internet. It is obtaining an IP from my router so that isn't the problem. Anyone have a suggestion I can try?
