Is there any way to control the CPU fan speed in the Gigabyte z87x-UD3H BIOS? If there is, how do I do it?

you have to download the app center and use the system information viewer. It will control all the pwm fans on your motherboard. You can also set modes like silent performance and maximum

gigabyte is a pain in the butt when it comes to controling fan speed from the bios.

Can't say it's great software but it does the job.

Read the manual...

It doesn't support Speedfan and their own software is somewhat unrealiable. I'm currently testing best setup on same mobo myself.

that's pathetic my old AM3+ 970 motherboard was using exactly the same thingy and it was darn shitty. i'd suggest buying a hardware fan controler for gigabyte motherboards...

my MSI is so easy i can dial in each fan individualy in the Bios using sliders once and for all and it's just very easy and practical, here's what it looks like:

I know :/ But here's the thing. If I'd had known how bad fan controls Gigabyte has, I'd gone for MSI instead. And I'm going to write their support about this also. Currently I'm testing out how manual setting in BIOS works. Its OK-ish with 0.75PWM/C setting and fans are running pretty much slower than they were with normal setting. But I'll have to see when I put it under OCCT/IBT.

they are pathetic they could just develop something they could throw in a bios update for all their motherboards but they are just too lazy.

This is the main reason i have a hard time recommanding any gigabyte motherboards...the fan control module is from like 1998...
