Hi!

I'm planning to upgrade my RAM from 8gigs to 16gigs. Already built in are 2x4GB G.Skill TridentX, but the shop i want to buy from doesn't have these.

So my question is wether there's a noticable difference in speed if all the sticks have the same frequency and latency. What do you think?

Nope, you will be fine. Its only when you start mixing latencys when problems start.

Whatever the slowest RAM is that you are using, that is what you will have to run them all at.  Also, its not a good idea to mix and match RAM, people have done it, but this is when errors start to occur.  Also, why the need for more RAM?  If all you do is game, 8GB is more than enough.  If you are doing content creation, then you should look into buying the exact same kit as you already have so that you get the same speed, and lower chance of errors.

I use my PC mainly for gaming and Virtual Machines, so the additional RAM could help with the latter. Problem is that i want to buy other things, too and some of them are exclusive to one shop in my country. That shop doesn't have the G.Skill and i don't want to buy somewhere else and pay 2 times for shipping.

I'll just try it out and send it back if it causes any complications. Thanks for your help

as long as the frequency and cas latency is the same on both stick models you're perfectly fine.
