660Ti vs 670 is it worth it?

Azzah44100

I am after some opinions, i am currently planning my own build and was wandering whether it is worth spending an extra $50 to get the 670 over the 660ti, in the long term i mean. i have a feeling that the 660ti is going to be out done faster than the 670.

SYSTEM SPECS

You absolutely correct, the 670 is faster then the 660TI. Alternatively, you could get the 7970 which is in the same price range as the 670 and get better performance.

670 is faster than 660ti, but only like 10% faster... so it does not approve that much difference in price. But if money is no problem, go with 670... I still believe that its overpriced.

the difference between the 660 ti and the 670 will show when using resoultions above 1080p (1440p,1600p) or anti-ailising like 8x/16x msaa, ssao, etc. Fxaa is the only exclusion to this rule

I suggest getting the GTX 670 FTW, its worth every penny :) as it is a slightly downgraded reference 680 :D, and can be overclocked to similar performance as a 680

:D

on a 1080p 60hz display no its not worth spending exstra money if you believe it will be more "future froof" , the 670 will shine more when you up the AA higher on the latest titles but honestly , the 660 ti runs games on ultra with 4x MSAA perfectly well.

hell in alot of games the cheaper 660 isint much futher behind the 660 ti.

the features of the gpu is what will be outdated quickly rather than the performance , good example is my old grafics card the 285 gtx , it could beat the 460ti at direct x 9/10 games but was not direct X 11 compatible.

in that case, lets wait for GTX770...it will do even better...

who uses x1440 and x1600? and P in 1080P is not for pixels... its for progressive... so 1366x768 is not 768P and neither is 1440... extreme HD is in 1920×1200 and 1680×1050... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme_High_Definition

okay thanks guys for all of your opininons, seeing as that amount of money is not really that big of a deal i think i will go with the 670, just for the tiny boost in performance and the ability to turn up AA if i felt like it.

in games that actually support physx [borderlands 2 is a great example between physx and non] they bring that next level of awesomeness, that one reason i go with nvidia or amd for graphics. even if a comparable amd card slightly beats an nvidia cards frame rates most games look a bit smoother with an nvidia card. i would say get an asus directcuii gtx 670, reason being is that it runs without audible noise and it also runs cool.
