Mimo hotspot?

The iPad air has Mimo for wifi, and as far as I can tell from a bit of research, this means it has multiple antenaes. Does this mean it could be used as a WiFi repeater? By this I mean it can connect to a wifi hotspot, and rebroadcast an amplified signal.

 

If so, how would I do this. (Jailbreaking is probably a given in this case)
