Fan Setup Recommendation?

Hi,

I am vamping up my case cooling and came up with this so far:

Can anyone recommend a better exhaust fan in back? My understanding is that the one I wrote down in the picture is more made for pushing air through a radiator, like it is used on top of the case.

I haven't bought any of the parts in green or red yet, so feel free to give me your opinions on those as well. Exception: The 200mm intake fan is on there and can't be reversed.

Plan: The two 140mm fans at the top are meant to push cool air over the CPU radiator, as suggested by Corsair for max cooling. The exhaust in back then takes that hot air and sucks it out. The intake in front pushes cool air over the HDDs and to the GPU, which has the exhaust in back. This setup will create positive pressure in the case, but I believe that any positive/negative pressure will be minimal due to the passive open grate and PCI openings in the back of the case.

Thanks!

Move the front fan to the back and put the Noctua in it's place.

H110 exhaust out the top to not blow hot air into the system.

Use the rear fan as intake to cool the motherboard components and provide air for the H110.

Like I said, I am using the top fans as an intake in order to get the CPU a few degrees cooler instead of blowing hot case air over the radiator. Corsair recommends this as well.

I would like to know - What does it matter if that hot air blows into the case? The CPU is the only thing with the realistic potential to overheat apart from the GPU, which has its own nice stream of cool air going along the bottom to suck into its own fans and spit out the back. Even if that was the case, the exhaust fan in back should suck that radiator-heated air right out the back, like this:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiezzy/15516978700/in/photostream/lightbox/

Corsair recommends that because they're optimizing cooling for the cpu due to their product being a cpu cooler.

The cooler air is better used to cool the graphics card since the cpu has a better cooling solution. The graphics card is actually more likely to overheat--the H110 isn't a lousy performer. The point of a rear fan as intake is that the motherboard vrm's would be better cooled.

The link is broken.

You don't think the 200mm intake fan and 120mm intake that both blow directly towards the GPU will be enough to keep it cool?

It should be enough but the cpu will still have more thermal headroom than the graphics card.

I get what you're saying now. You're trying to BALANCE the thermals of the GPU and CPU.

Ok, I think what I'm going to do (since either way I need to buy the same stuff) is simply try it both ways and see which produces a higher 3DMark score, since that score will be more indicative of overall gaming performance than just individual temperatures. I really value your input, so don't take that to mean I don't believe you - I just like to see it for myself. I will post the results back here when I'm done. I'm guessing it will make very little difference either way, but that remains to be seen.

Thanks for your help. I'll get back to you.

3D mark at the end of the day is still a synthetic benchmark.

The point I'm trying to make is that the graphics card is more likely to hit the thermal limits after oc'ing than the cpu. The H110 is a much more robust cooler than the one on the graphics card.

Additionally, the graphics card is generally the larger contributor to gaming performance.

That makes sense. Thanks.
