Which GTX 970

Buying a GTX 970 for my PC as it's upgrade time :). Also getting an enthoo evolv so case size/airflow won't be an issue. PC specs are in signature for reference. Currently looking at the asus strix or a reference 970 but can't find stock anywhere, so what's the best GTX 970 for a gamer?

Don't get the EVGA ACX one, it's ugly as shit. That's a fact.

Gigabyte G1 Gaming hands down.

The outright best 970 AFAIK is the Gigabyte G1 Gaming Windforce GTX 970. You definitely want the G1 if you can (versus the regular Windforce), because it has higher binning and comes with the sweet backplate, which not only looks cool but helps prevent sagging.

I purchased the EVGA GTX970 "FTW" Edition which was recently released. I don't overclock my cards, so I was happy to see this one had such high clocks. The FTW edition had the highest out of box clocks out of every GTX970 model I viewed, and I have been a fan of EVGA in the past. Better yet, I contacted EVGA customer service and they said it mine had coil whine that they would replace it for a new one. So I am not worried about that and am excited to get it early this week in the mail.

 

I know a lot of people like the Gigabyte one, but I was struggling to choose between the Asus and the EVGA one, I ended up going with the EVGA one because of the release of the FTW edition and because I get a free backplate for my card with purchase as a promo right now.
