Alright, so this is probably a long shot but a client came to me asking me if I could do a case swap for him. He's currently using an Alienware X51 R1 machine, which is already going to be a pain in the ass to work with. He wants to swap the internals over to a new chassis, and the one he has in mind is the Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini ITX chassis. My issue is I can't seem to find whether or not the motherboard inside is indeed a Mini ITX size, although based on the looks of it I think it is. The next concern is that of the I/O shield being built into the X51's chassis, meaning he's probably going to have to go without an I/O shield unless someone can suggest a work around for this. He basically has the money to upgrade his GPU and PSU and that's about it, so I can't really convince him to buy a new motherboard. So does this seem like it could work or should I suggest maybe another path for him to take? I wanted to get some opinions on here before I went ahead and gave him the okay to buy the parts.

It's always handy to keep a tape measure around or know the exact size of your phone, so you can get a rough idea of sizes.

Ask if they mind not having an I/O. A few disadvantages would be having airflow through this area causing dust in and around the back connectors.

You shouldn't have a problem as long as you know what you're doing.

Sounds good. Yeah he says he'll deal with it or whatever so I figure it should be a good deal. I just wanted to consult with some other people to kind of verify this
