Probably mobo problem

Hello guys, a friend of mine decided to upgrade his 775 build, he has a q8200 and he bought a ddr3 asus p5e3 deluxe mobo, the problem is that we have no video signal and it force restarts after a while but the speaker doesn't beep as if everything works fine, it is driving me crazy cause when we assembled it outside the case everything worked fine, any tips guys?

Are any screws/standoffs lose/in the wrong place behind the board? 

 

/on a side note, that sounds like a silly upgrade....Upgrading a 775 build with a new 775 mobo....

If everything was working outside the case, and it's assembled exactly the same inside the case, check the MOBO standoffs as well as the screws. Make sure you haven't screwed the board down too tight and examine the solder.

I reassembled it outside the case again and it doesn't work

And you can't see any damage to the board? Especially around the mounting points?

Were you wearing a static strap?

Only other thing I can think of is to clear the CMOS and try again.

he upgraded so he will have support for ddr3 ram

Only other thing I can think of is to clear the CMOS and try again.

Okay, so either its the mobo or the ram, I'd suggest ruling out the ram just to be sure then. Run the system with just one stick of ram (try both sticks in two different slots).

DDR3 won't drastically change performance. It would have made much more sense to save up and spend the money on a real upgrade.

i tried my 8gb stick and it didnt work, now my ram doesnt work with my pc too, i get error 55 on my mobol, please tell me my ram isnt fried
