R9 280x low fps

My setup

Intel dh55tc

Intel i5 650

Sapphire dual x r9 280x

8gb ram

Antec vp650 psu

I used to get 60 fps in my 9800gt ....now I am only getting 30 fps.

My GPU usage is going mental. Keeps bouncing between 0 and 35%

I have already deleted all my nvidia drivers via driver sweeper .

I am running Amd catylyst 14.4

Also I have not touched my mobos bios /drivers since I built this pc 4 yrs ago.

Please help

What im guessing is a CPU bottleneck.

 

Your GPU keeps bouncing between 0 and 35% because it has to wait for your CPU.

 

Also 14.4 is not the latest driver.

 

In what game did you used to get 60 and now 30?

I got 60 fps in Minecraft with a 9800....why is it down with a vastly superior r9 280x

Again, i realy think your CPU is bottlenecking the R9 280X

 

Maybe go back to the store where you bought the GPU and ask them whats wrong?

I am running BioShock infinite at 65-80 fps...
