NCIX had Linus review the HyperX Clouds again, where he AGAIN says that they have real leather ear pads and padding. Looking on the box it does say leather and not leatherette for the pads, but on the website it says leatherette. They don't have a distinct leather smell, but why would Linus be wrong twice?

Why would Linus be wrong twice? That's pretty easily answered don't you think? You only need to be wrong once and have to talk about it twice to be wrong twice. Linus is not a god, he's not going to get everything right. Maybe he used the product and felt the leatherette and thought it was real leather.

A little after the 2 minute mark the Kingston rep calls the earcup leatherette. I think it's more likely that Linus is wrong in this case.

Thank you for that info. It does seem weird that he would not verify that info and state it is fact for NCIX since they are showing a product that they sell.

I guess, but I bet Linus has a lot of things to do. Pretty much every single tech Youtuber (including Linus) is wrong about multiple aspects of audio so it's not surprising. Although on another note, I don't find the leather vs leatherette difference a big deal. Is it?

Not really, but it does give it a slight more value factor. The leatherette on them are actually really comfortable, which could be why Linus is mistaking them for real leather.

I wonder if real leather makes a person sweat more? Or something.
