Hey there,

My PC had a bsod memory management. So I was told to take all my RAM out and test 'em one by one. But I have one issue: My cpu cooler. It's the Cooler Master V8 GTS.. It's so big that I have to remove it for taking out RAM....

So if I take my cpu cooler in and out for so many times, I might be busy for a day or 2...

So my idea was to buy a supercheap cpu cooler to easily remove my ram.

Is this the best idea? If not, please share your opinion!

Thanks in advance!

If you have a stock cooler, go ahead and use that one for now, if you don't, and have the time to wait, you can indeed buy a cheap CPU cooler just to test your RAM configuration. Make sure to buy some thermal paste too, if it's not pre-applied on the cooler.

I have a few tubes of thermal compound here so I will be ok. Thanks for the quick response!

BTW: any idea what is one of the cheapest cpu fans for an LGA 2011 socket? :P

Wha...? You can use any slot for one-by-one testing. Unless its slot that is reason for error. You should be able to access 1-2 slots without removing cooler. So only 2 remove-reinstalls needed. One to begin testing and another to place everything back again.
