Whenever I'm using the computer , maybe playing a game or just surfing the web or even while not doing anything , it tends to just turn off by itself and turn on back randomly . Sometimes it would take minutes to turn on again , sometimes times seconds . The power button indicates that its on , while its actually off . Then when it turns back on , the menu of " Start Windows Normally , Safe Mode etc " appears . I check the system temperature everytime this happens and they're all normal .

Is it software that's the problem or something else ? Please help .

Hey there Mukessh,

Since it is not the temperatures (you should check them while under heavy loads anyway), I would suggest checking each piece of hardware you have. Try unplugging everything (GPU, RAM, PSU, etc.) and plugging it back again one by one and see if the problem persists. Try reseating your RAM sticks or use different slots.

When your computer shuts down, do you hear any beeping sounds? If yes, those are crash codes from your motherboard which you can read and see what the problem is (for example three short beeps, followed by one long).

Do you see an error message before or after the shut down? Is there a blue screen? If yes, try takinga picture of it or write down the error code. We can identify what happened by it.

I doubt that the PSU or CPU have something with this since the computer shuts even on idle without any load put to it. You should check if it functions as it should anyway.

I would also check the HDD and the SSD for any errors (this might also be the cause of the fails). I would download WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic and run bot the quick and the extended tests on the HDD to check its S.M.A.R.T. status as well as for any bad sectors (here's a link to it: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=810〈=en). Check your SSD manufacturer's manual for a proper tool to again check the health and for any bad sectors. You can run chkdsk /r from the CMD to also check for mad sectors and retrieve any lost info on them.

I would also check all cables and connections if they are plugged in firmly all the way.

If you have questions on how to do any of the above, feel free to ask :)

Hope this helps,

Captain_WD.
