Upgrading Graphics For First Time, NEED HELP :)

hi

so i want to upgrade my pc with a new graphics card. the reason i want this is mainly to have a quick and good quality gameplay for Star citizen so i can sort of wait another year really. however i noticed that some new graphics cards have been realised and some graphics cards have been redcued in price.

My budget for the new graphics card is £300/$500 Can go over i guess to around £350/$600 If Highly Advised

i sort of want as best graphics as my budget and current Pc will allow.

this is my first hardware upgrade in terms of graphics card so i want to know, is it best to just wait until better models come out since i have a year and a half wait or is it best to get one now and if so which card should i wait for or which one should i get now

help appreciated

The 900 series was Just released, they may have a refresh in a year, probably. But that's always the case, always going to be having better stuff coming out.

980 is pretty much the best single Gaming card out there at the moment, better than a Ti in most cases. No idea on prices, and when/if they will fall.

980's are a lot easier to get than 970's. I only had to check every day for a few days before I found my 980 in stock on Newegg.

970's are a different story though. Those will be very hard to get until after the holiday's I bet.

DO NOT buy a 780ti, unless you already have one, and you like SLIng.

Star Citizen is going to scream ram and hyperthreading the dev's said, so you're good on that.

Get a 970 and like a £50 HyperX 120gb SSD.

Your avatar gave me a good laugh, reminds me of the movie They Live (1988).

Haha, awesome.

If you haven't saw the movie I suggest you watch it, you'll understand the joke more.
