I was checking on the HIS R9 280 3GB IceQ OC GPU. I wanted to know how good they were when compared to the MSi and Asus cards.

All opinions are welcome.

They're alright from what I know. Although I wouldn't buy the one you linked, cooler looks hella shady.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

HIS is okay at best.  Definitely not a brand I would recommend, but there's nothing wrong with their cards.  They get the job done.

HIS is fine...blower style coolers are not...shop for something that is not a blower fan design instead.

Tomshardware has a roundup of 7950's and this one performs fairly well. The r9 280 is essentially a rebadged 7950, so I don't think the difference in performance will be much.

I use a HIS 7870 with the same cooling solution like that HIS R9 280. I really like it! Low noise and it gets some of the heat out of the case.

Cons. that matter:

-It is really long and won't fit in that many cases.

-200 Watt is the maximum they use this kind of cooler for. So it may hit a heat limit if you want to go all over clocking. (My 7870 is 150 Watt)

-its really your decision if you like the look. I do like it!
