Posted October 25, 2014 I just installed my h220x AOI cooler. With my stock cpu cooler I had cpu temps around 95 degrees F, with my h220x I now have a cpu temp of 160 degress F. did I do something wrong. I used about the size of an uncooked grain of rice of mx-4 in the middle of the cpu and installed the cooler. All the lights are on and all fans are spinning. Any idea whats up? Posted October 25, 2014 I'm assuming these are idle temps? My guess is you forgot to remove the plastic film over the cooler. Umount it and check. Posted October 25, 2014 1. Make sure you have the right amount of thermal past 2. Make sure you using the right screws, other word, make sure the block is touching the cpu and have the right pressure on it. 3. Make sure the pump and the fan is working properly. 雪月花(Setsugetsuka)
Posted October 25, 2014 Dumb thing to check, but make sure you have it all wired up and plugged in correctly. There's a separate wire that comes out of the bottom of the pump that needs to be plugged in too. I missed that at first and had to go back and plug it in when I turned it on but no water was moving. Posted October 26, 2014 The pump uses a SATA connection for power and 4 pin for pwm control. Make sure both are wired up. STOP using prime95 with Haswell CPUs! Posted October 26, 2014 Author Reseat the cooler, it sounds like air is trapped or something. i reseated the cooler, It did appear to have a bubble in it based off what the past looked like. my temps are slightly better at 69 idle and 77 throttle. any ideas on why it still isn't cooler than the stock cooler? Posted October 27, 2014 I'm not sure if your cooler is properly installed but, if everything is mounted correctly, your CPU cooler (pump) or CPU (chip) must be faulty. Those temperatures are insane, unless your room temperature is of 40ºC +. Try posting some pictures to help people help you. Posted October 27, 2014 Faulty product or wires not plugged in properly ( is the Pump plugged in Molex/Sata? + USB2 for Monitoring? Try different Molex/Sata ) Un-mount the CPU Block and Run the Pump and shake the Block Are you using "water Coolant" ? ( Is there enough inside the Reservoir? ) Check Thermal Paste
