I was trying to wait until the evil within went on sale to buy it on steam but I guess i'm going  to go ahead and purchase it. So I was looking at the games page on steam and it says 4gb of vram is recommended. I'm running a 3770k with 16gb of ram and two 780tis in sli so im sure i can run the game but do any of you guys own the game so you could comment your hardware and framerate so I can kinda get an idea of how it runs.

The evil within is horribly optimized, just an FYI.

yea i just watched a performance overview. It is currently capped at 30 on pc but bethesda said theyre working on getting it stable enough to lock at 60fps. also even though they recommend a 4gb gpu and a 3770k digital foundry had no problems running it pretty much 30fps locked with an i3 and a 750ti, they said it was a horrible port.

thats pretty accurate. My 4770k@4.8ghz and sli 780 lightnings runs pretty well but hard to say with the 30fps lock

it is 100% not locked and can be easily unlocked witgh a console command. Then again performance above 30hz is highly variable, im using a 760 and havent even tried unlocking because i dont think its worth it, but plenty of people with worse hardware are reporting 60 lock just by turning shadows down. One more thing, there is a distinction, if a game is demanding on PS4 and PC, than its really not correct to call it a "bad port" because it just isn't well coded on a performance basis,

besides the port quality isn't as big an issue as dealing with the id tech 5 game engine

On the other hand its my favorite game to play this year.

Intel i5-3570K/ Gigabyte GTX 1080/ Asus PA248Q/ Sony MDR-7506/MSI Z77A-G45/ NHD-14/Samsung 840 EVO 256GB+ Seagate Barracuda 3TB/ 16GB HyperX Blue 1600MHZ/  750w PSU/ Corsiar Carbide 500R
