Hello good folk of the LTT community!

So when skylake released I'm planning on getting a Z170 (Z97 equivalent of skylake) motherboard, an broadwell I7 and the Noctua NH-D15 (Guessing the NH-D15 will also be compatible for LGA 1151). Now my question is this: The NH-D15 comes with 2 NF-A15 fans but what would yield better results? NF-F12's of the NF-A15's?

Just wondering

The A15's are quite better considering the size difference and that they were pretty much made for the NH-D15.

The NF-A15's that come with the cooler are excellent fans. The difference in temps between the two types of fans would be negligible considering the additional cost of buying NF-F12's.

In my opinion you should just keep the NF-A15's that come with it.

yesterday's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why

nf-f15 through and  through...

the cpu heatsink fins is more spread apart from each other than your typical watercooled radiator, where nf-f12 finds its place. I doubt there would be a huge difference if nf-f12 was the same size as nf-a15. I would still think nf-a15 would win.

So due to the larger size and all that, nf-a15 would be much better.
