Front Panel Issues With Cooler Master

I'm currently putting together my first PC, (and stressing mad hard over the wiring, since it looks terrible) and I haven't a clue how to get the guard out of the way for the optical drive.  The case is a Cooler Master 932 Advanced case.  It awkwardly pivots one direction, but regarding how to get it out, I haven't a clue.  Could somebody tell me how to remove it?

 

Just for the record, the guard I'm talking about is the one behind the mesh.  I'm not sure if the front panel of the case is meant to come off at all.
