Microsoft new culture is starting to emerge. Microsoft has Microsoft Garage, which is projects done by internal developers of the company but aren't supported by the company. Before it was locked down to Windows applications, now it opens its door to other platforms.

Microsoft Garage previously showcase Mouse Without Borders, a software that all yous to easily use your keyboard and mouse from your desktop, to control another system, by moving the mouse at the edge of the screen, like a dual screen setup. See it as a software KVM. Copy and paste of files and clipboard worked between systems. (Windows only)

Today, Microsoft is showcasing apps for (one of which or combination): XBox One, Windows Phone, Windows 8, and Android.

Starting today, the software giant is expanding its Garage project to give outsiders a chance to see what Microsoft employees create inside the company during their free time. Some of those projects might be iOS, Windows, or Android apps, but the really interesting ones, and the ones Microsoft is choosing to highlight today, are for Google’s Android operating system.

You can check out what's available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/garage/

Here is one project available for Android:

You really think that a lock screen will prevent anyone from stealing your phone?

If I leave my phone on a desk for an hour with a lock screen I'm pretty sure that if someone wants to use it without my permission (think classmate, coworker) it will prevent him/her from doing so. The video shows you unlocking the phone with a PIN to make a call or check the calendar (the PIN is there for a reason you know) and next shows you launching apps/making calls without any security from the lock screen. I know you can hide some of the information displayed, but that defeats the purpose of this lock screen in the first place.

I'm pretty sure if someone really wants to steal your data they will do so, that doesn't mean you should allow anyone to see it.

screw the data, just take the phone.

Step 1: Pick up iphone

Step 2: swipe up

step 3: Turn on airplane mode

There you go, even with a lock screen you have just made it impossible to use FindMyPhone

Dunno why, but I want to try it with my friend's iPhone xD Can this work on Android/WP8 as well? I can't do anything besides take photos and call emergency with a lock screen on my M8.

I have to imagine that it's possible to do this with a surface pro 3 due to being able to get into it by clicking the pen. As for other phones Idk

Oh noes, they might... dare I say it.. do a phone call or play angry bird... Oh no!!!

Oh the humanity!

If you look at the video, you can customize it, so you can put what you want or remove what you want.
