Just going to be going for 970/980 sli and more storage and a new power supply and of course the ROG swift, I'm kinda desperate right now and can't wait since I just scored a full time job and really can't get enough of that 144 hz screen in 1440p.

Just need some confirmation... would you guys rather for reference 980 or strix? I just want to get the highest OC possible since I want no regrets even when the 980 ti series is released. I heard that that reference coolers in sli is better because of the blower style but at the same time if you have a good case with good airflow ( and right amount of fans) that you should be fine...

I personally think my current setup has good airflow and won't have a problem with strix.

Trying to convince myself I don't need a 500GB ssd ( I know I don't but... I feel like going overkill); I'm NOT upgrading my cpu or mobo or going to bother changing my cpu cooler; maybe if I drop the SSD I can get a 128GB one and maybe a case? If so suggestions?

I'm pretty nervous when I personally make a purchase so just need some reassurance trying to save money and not wasting it to make the most out my money is logical I'm just turn into a confused consumer whenever I personally buy my own parts.

@Kogyaru

I'd lose the 1000w platinum psu. Something like a 750w EVGA G2 is more than enough at a fraction of the cost. Going with a 1000w psu is just silly, especially considering the low power of the 900 series. The only reason I could possibly think to go with a 1000 psu is if future AMD/Nvidia gpus aren't as efficient, and therefore require more power, but 1000w would be plenty for three way...which is just silly unless you're doing heavy editing/rendering.

TL;DR anything more than a 750w psu is overkill.

I get what your saying but I'm see a 1000W evga one for $50 dollars extra so I'll just go with that it's G1 series though.

Here's what I have so far...

Maybe get a Crucial MX100 or M550 instead. Might be better value than the 840 Evo. Or maybe even the 850 Pro, that's pretty badass. The PSU you got at the moment should be good enough for SLI in the future.

Yeah but I have a bronze rating and I'm not even sure if I have enough 6+8 pin power connectors... I'm not entierly run my system with this PSU with sli 980s read somewhere that a single 980 takes 280 watts in full stress 280x2 = 560 watts and an i7 4770k takes somewhere around 164 watts 164+ 560 = 724 watts.

Still deciding if I should get a new case or not I can give my little brother a new case and my 670 ( he plays on 1080p so it's a real upgrade from the current 270x he has ;x)

OR stick with my case and get an SSD, trying to keep this under 3 grand since I just realized I only have a credit limit of 3 grand on my credit card. haha.

G2 is quite a bit better than a G1.
