LED is the best option. Cathodes are bulky and annoying really. With the H440, you can probably hide the strips in the drives cages, facing them towards to back of the case so that light reflects off the case, rather than having a harsh light.

Phobya and Bitfenix are the brands that I use right now, but really there's not much difference.

On NZXT website you can get sleeved white led for 10 dollars. Should work well if your getting a h440

i have seen them though i thought that the spacing between the LEDs would lead to patchy lighing

why would you go for dull lighting in the 440? is it a size thing or becaus the case is white

Maybe its a personal thing but i saw people putting really bright lights in there and they don't look good.....or maybe its the placement

I use the 2 metre long NZXT led strip in my HAF X (does exactly one lap around the side panel's edges).

It gives nice and even lighting with 3 brightness settings ranging from "soft" to "you can see my PC from space".

As long as you don't have too much reflection inside the case and mount them out of sight, a LED strip is the way to go.

In my case I have one spot where you really see one of the LEDs due to the glossy alu plate I mounted the SSDs on. Also the edges of the glass sometimes show spots, depending on the angle you look at it.

the undercase lighting consists of a pair of 15" cathodes. Never again. They're the work of satan and require a rather large custom power brick ... almost all of which are baby blue. It was a nightmare to put them neatly under the case, never mind trying to put them on the inside.
