I've been looking around at the various PSU options and picked a 750W SuperNova. My question is, it that too much power if the estimated watts is around 400?

Yes. What specs are you running? 750G2 is a great PSU but if you're only using 400W estimated and don't plan to CF/SLI then get something like a 550W XFX XTR

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

A PCPartpicker list would be nice. 750W won't hurt anything but you can save some money going lower.

I'm thinking of overclocking in the future but here is the build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MWgNBm

If you don't plan to SLI then a 550W XTR/Seasonic G is perfect

The 750W is actually cheaper then any of the other SuperNovas because its on sale

There are others in there that are about $30 cheaper, you ca go with whatever. More wattage won't hurt anything, except your wallet.

The one you have chosen isn't a very good psu though. If you are going with EVGA then you want the G2 model instead of the NEX.

As mentioned above, something like the XFX XTR 550W would be fine for a single card.

Also some Red Ram would be a better match with the rest of your components  :)
