HyperX Cloud Headset mic not working

Monkeymatthew78

I bought my HyperX Cloud headset about a month ago. I love them. They are cheap and sound amazing. But the mic isn't working. I tried everything from configuring with the settings on my control panel sounds and even unplugging my webcam. I have the Asrock z97 extreme4 mobo. Please help if you need more info please feel free to ask

Is there an in-line mic mute button/slider that you might need press/slide? I know this probably obvious, but I do need to ask.

Does the mich show in ´Recording devices´ in the sounds control panel?

Do you have the drivers for the motherboards soundcard installed? If so, does the mic show in there.

Since it's analog try swapping the port you use (If you used front, switch to back and vice versa). Otherwise check along the cable extenders, maybe one of them is not plugged in properly/fully which can result in your mic not working.

i messed with the slider to make sure its not mute but still nothing. The mic does show in recordind devices. The motherboard onboard audio is installed correctly.

Then I would also recommend trying to plug the mic into the front panel port.

Edit: When you were in the sounds control panel, did you check the option that says "Show Disabled Devices"? It might be that it has been disabled for some reason.
