[Windows 7] The Witcher Save files?

I'm going to install Windows 8.1 and format the two HDDs that I have pretty soon. The save file I really want to keep though is The Witcher, it takes quite some time to get the progress I have and really don't want to lose it. I got the "My Documents" save file, but I can't find any others. Are there other save files like somewhere in the directory? Also, does Steam have a way that I can upload the save files to their servers?

Put them on a USB stick or seperate drive, and place them in your savegame folder when you reinstall it?

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Save and config file locations are usually provided on PC Gaming Wiki. But it sounds like you've already found what you needed.

Steam does have Cloud saving, but only for certain games, and its generally done automatically at the time the save is made. If your saved games exist locally, you'll need to back them up yourself.

Ok, I might be wrong on this because I haven't replayed TW 1 in a while but I think you have the right save.

When it comes to TW2, it has cloud so you don't need to worry about losing your savegames.

I would recommend you to disable it though.

Once in a while you might wanna delete some savegames and keep only the key ones ( beginning of a chapter or somewhere before a big decision ).

This is because if you have too many savegames in your folder it takes a lot of time to access the ingame load folder and sometimes it crashes your game.

Good luck and good hunting ^^

You might want to save the files after you are done, W2 saves can be transferred to W3, just like they were transferable from the first game.

This is LTT. One cannot force "style over substance" values & agenda on people that actually aren't afraid to pop the lid off their electronic devices, which happens to be the most common denominator of this community. Rather than take shots at this community in every post, why not seek out like-minded individuals elsewhere?
