What do you think of this

i am trying to stick to your build but i cannot help but have a little touch of my own :)

It's not as good. You're wasting money on a more expensive gpu that will perform the same. What's more you're offsetting the price by going with a cheaper mouse, inferior cooler and case.

Put quite simply; 'your touch' is making your pc worse.

Hello friends of the internet.

Recently I was getting bad results from my old toshiba laptop and wanted to build a gaming pc.

I have never built before however I have modified pc's and I am pretty sure I know what I am doing.

I have a budget of £600 including mouse and keyboard. This does not include the monitor.

I also require the rig to be Intel and Nvidia based for no particular reason whatsoever.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me by suggesting changes to this list I have already created!

total: £600.23

GTX 760, good mobo (even looks nice!), 4690, good case +1 fan for it, mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Hi again!

~~~UPDATE~~~
I wanted to update some stuff from earlier so here goes!
Can I mention that in the future overclocking is something I would definitely want to do.
There were a lot of comments mentioning that I should upgrade my cpu to the Intel I7 4690k because it is 4th gen and only £10 more expensive.
I agree, this is a fairly good upgrade for £10 and it also supports overclocking to my needs.
I also want to say that I would like to "attempt" to overclock my gpu/graphics card so I will need a good graphics card.
Also many people were mentioning that I should have the gtx 760 by Gigabyte but I want to stick with the EVGA card because my last pc had an EVGA and it was reliable.
List:
Yognaught and Proud!
It's around £20 more
this makes it cheaper :)
Also makes it worse. If I comb through your build vs mine.....
The cooler is vastly inferior for £2 less. The RAM is £10 more. The case is £20 more. PSU is £17 less, but is also less efficient. Mobo is from the older gen Haswell stuff, fortunately you do not require a Z series mobo anymore to overclock. The B and H class mobos can do it too. The fans are more expensive and you need to buy more of them for that case.
The most glaring thing in your build is this is a gaming pc, and you've spend by far the most on the cpu rather than the GPU. This is a gaming pc, or supposed to be, and you're not going to invest the most in your GPU? This is madness! Do the sensible thing. At least consider my build. In fact, if you change the cpu from the 4690k to the G3258, that might be what you need. Hard to say. Tell me which games you plan on playing with this.
Games:
Minecraft (maybe)
TF2 (for sure!)
Battlefield 4
Dota 2
Tom clancy's ghost recons
There are loads of other games as well
I also want to mention that I make youtube videos (gaming) and require to do some simple editing
I want to thank you for your help and I want to keep an i5 and might consider a different build as long as it is as close to my build as possible. I could probably up the budget to £625 if needed to but if not i would like to stay as close to £600 as possible.
My build is £623!  :D
Trust me, I'd go for it. For the price it's an an excellent PC. It's budget priced, but mid ranged level gaming PC. I'm actually surprised it has a 4690k at all for the price.
I would also like to ask a question!
At the bottom of the partpicker page it says that I might need to update the motherboard bios prior to using the haswell cpu.
Unfortunately I do not have another cpu lying around
What do you suggest?
This. £8 more, totally worth the extra few quid.
What about the question?
what do you suggest if I wanted to keep the pc I customized myself?
You would need another cpu to update the bios I would think. And your build isn't well priced. That's why you're here isn't it? To ask for advice? I have just given you advice. The build for £8 more is a no brainer. No update required. A more economical build.
