Hey all I'm new here and I have had a ongoing sli issue with my system. I have had the computer for about 8 months and this issue has been happening off and on for about 3 months now. It has gotten progressively worse over the 3 months it has been going on for, to the point where I don't even use it in sli anymore cause it happens everytime now. So what happens is whenever it has sli enabled and I am gaming (does not seem to matter which game), the computer freezes can be soon or after doing it for several hours but in different ways. 1 - It just goes black with no sound or anything and sometimes I can still hear the game in the background. 2 - It freezes with the game up on the screen and I will have sound sometimes or not.

I have tried a couple of things to fix it, I have bought a new sli connector, issue still happens. I have swapped the cards around on the pci slots other than the 3rd slot have not tried that one. Swapped the first card to the second slot and second card to the first slot, issue still happens but only in sli.

My Rig consists of: AS Rock X79 Extreme 9 mobo, 16 gb of ram, 4930k cpu, 2 msi 780's gpu's, and evga 1500w power supply.

How could I go about making sure it is a broken card and then determining which card it is?

Try the cards one at a time and figure out that way.

I have been running it on just card 1 since i stopped doing sli awhile ago so I don't think its that card, so I put just card 2 in on pci slot 1 and have been running it yesterday and today with no issues. Still seems to just be an issue that happens only when in sli.

Could be the motherboard then. Have you ever done SLI with your current motherboard?
