970m better than 280x?

Hey guys so im thinking of buying this notebook http://avell.com.br/notebooks/titanium-g1540-max-se4 (THE SITE IS IN PORTUGUESE)  ill change that i5 for an i7 but  do you think that the notebook is going to peform batter than my desktop that is a 280x 16gb of ram i7 4770k. the reason that im asking is that ii dont want to my desktop to be obsolete.

Nope.

Should be the same level,if not worse.

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.
