Chromecast

Hello wonderful people of LTT!

 

I just got myself a Chromecast, I'm wondering if I can stream XBMC or VLC player without having to stream my whole desktop so I can play game while my mom is watching video on the TV, is there a third party programs that can do this? Or is there any geeky solution or hacks or whatever methods to achieve this?

Phones can Stream a lot of things like that.

Plex apparently, never used it myself as I don't really have a local media library any more but everyone rates it highly.

I have a Chromecast myself and Plex is the perfect solution to your problem. You could also use something like Videostream for individual videos, however I highly recommend taking advantage of Plex's additional features and functionality.
