if you have FIOS TV and you remove the FIOS internet router they give you, then your TVs will lose guide and on demand functionality because the FIOS boxes use MoCa to get internet through the FIOS router.

long story short: if you wish to use your own router as the primary router, you will need to plug the WAN port of your router into the RJ-45 ethernet port on the ONT(the big box on the wall somewhere. i think it's grey and may be outside your huose)

if you do that, then you lose TV guide and on demand through the FIOS supplied boxes.

if you just want to use your router as an access point, leave your FIOS supplied router as is and connect your router's WAN/in/internet/whatever they call it to one of the LAN ports on the FIOS actiontec router.
