Safe Mode Troubles

I can not for the life of me figure out how to boot into safe mode using Bios v1.6 for MSI's P55M GD45 motherboard. I am trying to troubleshoot GPU problems and I can't boot into safe mode. My problem for anyone wondering is that after booting up and showing the Windows 8.1 logo for 20s, my computer decides to just show a black screen while I am able to move my mouse around(sort of, it flickers and resets positions every other second) and I am trying to see if it is drivers that are causing the problem. Can anyone help with either my GPU problem, or my Bios problem?
