G3258 multitasking and general windowings

Will i notice a discrepancy going from a quad core with not so fast cores to a dual core with pretty much the fastest cores you can get i only ask this because i don't play games that are CPU intensive and i just want something that runs cool and quiet ergo the G3258 has overclocking if need be and a low enough TDP that it will barely produce heat. So yeah will i notice any slowdowns and such i know handbrake may be a bit slower but i haven't done any encoding in a while so meh.

I'd say that you probably wouldn't notice much a difference between your current CPU and a G3258, especially if you OC it to the moon.

What's the point of upgrading? Like your AMD consumes power..

Well I have a G3420 in my steam streaming box, and in general non-gaming usage, it isn't much different from my 4670k overclocked.

 

With some games it can make a lot of difference though. Do you mind giving some examples of the non-cpu intensive games you play? I only ask because some newer games which are coded to use more than 2 cores, will run better on 4 lower clocked cores, than they ever could on 2 overclocked cores.
