Question about network setup.

Guys i need to setup a local network between two computers in my house for file sharing and stuff like that. Is there any recomendations on how to do that?

Are both Computers on the same wifi network?

Simply put a regular ethernet cable between them and use one of the PC's(If it has WI-FI) as a "network passthrough" and have the other computer get the internet through its ethernet port.

Maybe one pc has dual Ethernet ports. in that case same logic applies.
