Can I unplug the 3 pin fan header on my h100i?

I have just got a z97 pro Asus motherboard and a h100i to cool the CPU. I am wondering if it would be ok to unplug the three pin fan header for the pump to allow me to connect both radiator fans and have them controled by fan xpert 3.

My reasoning for thinking this is OK is that the header only has one wire to enable the motherboard to see my pump speed and I don't mind the pump running at full power on the sata power it's also plugged into.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

As long as you have the pump connected to a different header you will be fine.
