windows 8 question

SemiSolid1

I'am using windows 8 and have 8gb of ram install but it says "Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.89 usable)". Why isn't the full 8gb usable?

I believe it is because the system or BIOS automatically needs some. This is totally normal.

Other systems on the motherboard reserve some space, EG north/southbridge etc, Its normal behaviour, you would see sometimes up to 2GB as hardware reserved when running on integrated graphics.

Arch Linux on Samsung 840 EVO 120GB: Startup finished in 1.334s (kernel) + 224ms (userspace) = 1.559s | U mad windoze..?
