I'm needing a new CPU for my rig. I currently have AMD Athlon x2 250 3GHz and it is seriously slowing down my rig. I was looking at the AMD fx-6300 3.5GHz. I was wondering if this CPU will be good for playing new games at high setting with good FPS.

I want to stay amd and not change to intel and I have an XFX Radeon HD 7950 DD 3GB and an XFX ProSeries core edition 550W PSU

Any help will be welcome :)

I'm on a budget of about £100, so I can't really afford the 8350. But if the 6300 is good enough I will deffenatly get it. Thanks for the speedy reply haha :)

I just can't afford an intel rig at the moment. Plus the added cost of a new MB. But thanks for the reply anyway.
