Just want feedback from anyone about my possible part choices. I am going to post two possible builds, they're about the same budget just one is a bit of a smaller form factor so I can fit it on top of my desk to show it off to friends. I mainly game but do some standard word processing and internet surfing and occasionally image editing. I want it to be future-proof for a couple of years but I will be mainly gaming at 1080p or possibly upgrade to 1440p. When it starts to slow down I may add another GPU for some SLI action.

Build 1 - Smaller form factor:

Intel i5 4670K

Corsair H100i

Asus Maximus VI Gene

16GB of Corsair Vengeance

250GB Samsung 840 SSD (Boot Drive)

2TB Seagate Barracuda

EVGA 650W 80 Plus Gold PSU

Corsair 350D mATX Case (windowed)

Geforce GTX 770 probably Asus Direct CUII card

Build 2:

Intel i5 4670K

Corsair H100i

MSI MPower Z87

16GB of Corsair Vengeance

250GB Samsung 840 SSD (Boot Drive)

2TB Seagate Barracuda

EVGA 650W 80 Plus Gold PSU

NZXT Phantom 410 Case

MSI GTX 770 Lightning

Cheers for any comments. By the way this is the first build I am doing, possibly on the second one I will do a custom water cooling loop but at the moment that looks a bit out of my reach.

I would say go for the first build. I think the m-atx form factor is really cool, but the only problem would be you wouldn't have another PCI-E slot after you SLI your 770s.

The only thing I am likely to add in a PCI-E slot is maybe a Wifi card as the sound on the ROG board looks pretty good. If I SLI the 770's I can always get a USB Wifi antenna although it won't be as fast.

Yeah, that is definitely an option though. It's also personal preference for the case, and how much room you have. So, it really depends on how you're using it, and what you plan to do.

First one looks good except for the overly expensive motherboard. Haswell overclocking's more of a gamble on the chip and less on the motherboard. If you want to pay more for what might not be much of an improvement or for looks, that's up to you but I'd get a cheaper motherboard. By that, I mean just about any z87.
