I got a new Cooler Master V750 watt 80+Gold PSU for my friends computer. I installed it and everything worked fine for the first time it booted. I shut it off and came back to it later with him and now the motherboard light occasionally blinks green when we try give it power via the 24-pin connector and other times it doesn't. We hooked up the really old PSU (which starts giving off a burning smell) and the light stayed a solid green and everything worked. Now I have no idea what's wrong and what happened with the new PSU.

Thanks.

I was thinking that I should RMA it but was hoping there was a fix.

reading the details you have given I would NOT plug anything into that PSU and RMA it ASAP..
