Hello, fellow techies I recently built a new machine and everything appear to be functioning correctly. However when I power down my machine and flip the switch on the back of the power supply the PSU makes a Whining sound for a short time until the PSU has fully shut down. All the Voltages seem to be correct the PSU in question is an EVGA Supernova 750 G2. I don't notice the whine when the machine is powered on at all. I am just curious as to what the cause could be it.

Further information:

There does not appear to be a heat issue what so ever.

I have the  EVGA Supernova 1000 G2. Mines also does this what I think is happening is its draining the power out of the caps before turning off.... wouldn't worry about it tbh.

Superflower (company that made the PSU for EVGA) seem to have not put enough glue on some of the coils inside the PSU, Perhaps it could be a little coil whine you are hearing but as above its nothing to worry about.

Quack 🦆
