New Setup - Problem with my Monitors/GPU

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Just try plugging in your top monitor and test it for awhile see if it does the same thing, Could be a faulty monitor.

Also what are you computer specs

Hi everyone!

Got a brand new setup with new PC and new screens. It was running fine for like 2 hours.

I am still setting up everything. The problem started happening after I plugged in some USB Cables. I don't think it has anything to do with that but yea..

Here's a video of my problem:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc7lqslrMUc

At 0:16 top screen turns off. Then at 0:33 the main screen starts to flicker.

My second (top) screen started turning off at random times. Replugging the power cable and restarting the PC helped.

Then sometimes everything starts to flicker which also turns the top monitor off until I reboot.

I really don't know whats wrong now... :-(

Would be nice if anyone can help me.

Thanks!

- Tronnic.

i would also suggest you change the plugs in which the cables are and check the cables themselfes. Also check for driver updates and maybe reinstall them. Also if you have one remove the overclock of your gpu (though that should not be the problem, but you never know)

Will try this.

My sepcs are:

i7 3790k

Asus Maximus VII Ranger

Gigabyte R9 290X2 Crossfire

16GB Ram

Windows 8.1

The monitors are LG 34UM95 (connected with DP) & LG 25UM65-P (connected with HDMI)

Reinstall drivers?

It's a clean install. Like I said it's a new machine and everything is freshly set up.

I guess it's a faulty monitor then. Plugged in my TV receiver just to see if it works and it also switches off every few minutes.

Thanks for your help.

So annoying. Had to wait over a week till all my PC parts were here and now this thing is dead already... :(

yea, it was the secondary. But now it feels "incomplete". Hehe. I'm not good at being patient.

By the way, here's my buildlog if anyone is interested. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/220281-tronnics-buildlog-project-wastage/#entry3019600
