This certain series of mp4 videos causes the picture in WMP12 to freeze after 2 seconds of playback. THe audio continues just fine. I have played all types of videos on this computer and never had this happen. It is just this series of video files. I am using ffdshow DXVA decoder for H264. If i turn back on windows 7 naitive codecs thrugh the  MS codec Tweaks tool or turn off the DXVA and just use LAV decoder, the files play correctly. I have tried adjusting every setting. I have linked a .txt of the media info. If anyone can tell the problem, that would be awesome. The only out of the ordinary thing i notice is that these video files have about 10 different languages of subtitles embeded in the video.

Try VLC, or MPC-HC with the CCCP.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Thanks for the responses.

I do have VLC installed too and the videos in question do work with it. Never used those CCCP codecs Fulgrim metioned with Media player Classic.

There is just something weird about this series of .mp4's that wont allow them to play correctly using ffdshow dxva decoder. Any of the other 1000's of video files of all kinds play without a problem. I just like using the ffdshow codec because it uses around half the cpu power on this PC as microsofts built in win 7 codecs, LAV or VLC.
