So I put together my PC (not doing an out of the case boot like I normally would(like an idiot)) and I booted and got... Nothing.. No POST beep(s) and no display... All the fans turned on etc(I know that means nothing)....

I took out the GPU and RAM and booted.

I got a single long beep.

I installed my two RAM modules..

5 short beeps

I played with various configurations with the RAM modules and still got...

5 short beeps

I've narrowed it down to this:

PSU is WORKING

CPU is questionable

RAM is questionable

GPU is un-determinable (at this point)

I'm taking in the CPU to my local shop tomorrow to be tested anyway, so if anyone knows what might be going on and possibly save me $40 or so that would be awesome.

I have read 2 differing articles about the AMI UEFI beep codes. One says it is CPU related..the other states that it is GPU related.Hazard a guess and say that it may be worth $40 to find out..unless you have a GPU to test on the system.

Did you ever have it working..?..Do you know what the BIOS version is..?..Your CPU was supported on that board after ver 1.50..it may be worth it to have a older CPU in place and see if it boots..?

Hope you can get some answers..Let us know how it works out. :)

Your best effort is the easiest thing to give to someone else..

THANK YOU, you may have just saved me some money. I have an older CPU that I can throw in there and see if it'll boot first of all, and see if I need to update the BIOS. Let's hope this is the problem :)
