The two motherboards have different sockets meaning they're for different processors.</p>

If this is anything like the z77 version, it should be a good motherboard choice. Decent onboard sound, overclocking capability, most importantly, a decent price: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z87g43

Well one is Z77 and one is Z87
