970 vs 780

I am building a new gaming PC and wanted to get your opinion.

 

In my country, the gtx 780 (reference) costs around 600 $ while  a gtx 970 (Gigabyte G1) costs 620 $.

 

I know the prices are ridiculous but there is no other way of getting graphics cards here.

 

So which one should I buy?

I would pick the 970 over 780 any day. If you buy locally or import it.

970 has new technology that the 780 hasn't got and would last longer before you would need a new GPU.

970 does slightly better than the 780, but also uses less power and runs cooler, so buy the 970.
