So I have made two different builds and I am a bit stuck on what to choose. I don't have to worry about peripherals for now since I have that covered. I would like to play at 1440p but honestly 1080p is fine.

I personally prefer the first one. The second one will most likely give you more performance on games that scale well with SLI. Also the motherboard is z87 on the second one I believe so you'll have to update the bios in order to use devil's canyon cpu.

I would suggest the second with a couple of modifications. Slightly less expensive memory modules that add a little more color. A single GTX 980. A better psu. The psu is large enough to support a second 980 with headroom for decent overclocking.
