I have been thinking/wondering when do you think we will see 16gb and 32gb or more, on one dimm for ddr4. I think maybe in a year or two; what do you think?

There are 16GB and 32GB DDR3 DIMMs already...ECC, but still 16/32GB, The mainstream platform just has no use for it right now.

They are there. With the new mainstream chips coming out in the next year, we will start to see them get announced more and more

No, you cannot use EEC modules on motherboards/CPU's that do not support it.

 

Apparently it can work, it's just unlikely that it will. Plus ECC is expensive as all hell. Not worth it in my opinion, unless of course you need ECC.
