Nvidia game crash

Go to solution Solved by XTankSlayerX,

Try backing off the OC, that should fix it

Hello guys, for a while now i have been getting an error each time i start a bit more demanding game on my PC.

This occurs each time when the PC had a fresh restart and only once per restart,

The thing is when i run something a bit more demanding (League of Legends) after a short while the game bugges out for a few seconds showing a black screen and distorted sound, and returns to the game.

If im running something more demanding like Titanfall and BF3 the game crashes completely.

So like i said this once it happens will not happen again if the PC is not restarted.

This is my graphics card: http://www.asus.com/uk/Graphics_Cards/GTX660_TIDC22GD5/

and it is overclocked as shown in the picture (id appreciate if anyone could maybe confirm if my overclock is correct?)

The drivers are up to date, as for the rest of my spec is:

Intel i7 870 overclocked to 4.0ghz

Asus Formula III, 12 gbs of RAM (2x2 kingston hyper blue) and (2x4 kinston hyper x).

GX 750w CM PSU.

I think this is enough on spec, if you need more please tell me.

Thank you in advance!

I don't know how much i am gaining from the OC, but it was stable when first i did it, and in stable i mean this error not occurring,

At certain times il get a notice that the nvidia kernel has crashed but successfully recovered.

And if i do back off the OC could anyone suggest a stable one?

I'd bring them back down to stock just to eliminate your OC as a variable, then if it works, bring up your clock speeds until you are unstable again, then back them off just a little bit.

I've had overclocks that were 100% stable but then an update happened or early hardware failure ruined my OC.

You can try increasing it when the next drivers come out, my previously good OC on my GTX 760 also had to be backed down due to the newest drivers.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
